angling club was established in 1894 and has grown to be one of the largest clubs in north wiltshire. members are able to fish some of the best stretches of the bristol avon including some excellent barbel fishing. the club also controls three lakes suitable for all types of angler, offering some excellent pole fishing for carp, tench, roach, rudd and perch. match angler or pleasure fisherman, and was held on sections 6 & 7. the river had some flow but was very clear and extremely hot weather conditions. fishing was however very good with some big weights of chub and a few barbel caught up to 3lb. 1st on the day went to a hyde with 47lb. alex has drawn the pool at kellaways and had caught 16 chub on the pole using maggots. 2nd was t scott with 19lb 13oz. tony has fish the stickfloat to a bush and has also caught chub but using caster. 3rd s palmer with 18lb 8oz of chub. steve has also caught chub on the pole with maggots from peckingel. 1st a hyde 47lb kellaways 2nd t scott 19lb river was very still and clear. fishing on the night was slow but everyone caught. 1st on the evening was k williams with 12lb 2oz. kevin has caught a few skimmers and one bream on the pole with worm. 2nd was g etheridge with 6lb 10oz. gary has caught small roach on the pole with hemp. 3rd went to p philips with 5lb 4oz. pete has fish worm on the pole to tempt a few perch 1st k williams 12lb 2oz river sections have now been mended. can all anglers please use care when using these platforms on our waters and report any broken planks to a committee member. the committee check platforms and try to replace all broken planks regularly. members are reminded that angling and the use of provided platforms, on cac waters is entirely at their own risk. if anyone sees any broken platforms please
